Day 4 - Red Bull Home Run
The video speaks for itself!!!!
The video speaks for itself!!!!
OK, so there's the night before to talk about and then all the action from the following day...
The night before
After the sucess of the Huckfest, a bouyant BRITS crowd desended on the Indy Bar at the bottom of the slope for a jolly Cushe party. Warming the crowd up was Seb Kern, who played a quality old skool Drum n bass set, leaving the crowd pumped and waiting for more from the headlinners, Urban Knights. These guys hit the stage, took stock and conquered, with some brainshaking dubstep and breaks. Sonically awesome, visually incredible, the Urban Knights were the guardians of all thats sacred and revered about the BRITS.
The action from the following day
Skier Cross and snowboard halfpipe were on the menu today. We had a particular interest as Becky was competiting in the finals of the skier cross finals and i'm very pleased to announce that Becky was once again on the podium, coming in 3rd after a crash halfway up the slope with the 4th place competitor. Nice one Becky!!!
In the snowboarding halfpipe, historically the blue ribbon event with the big guns all coming out to play, we we're treated to some explosive action in all catagories. In the womens, Animal rider and GB star Kate Foster took gold and in the mens, young buck, Jamie Nicholls took the honours with a trick he's learnt in practice that day.

All in all another corker of a day and muchos fun had by all.
More from day 4 tomorrow.
Wowzers, that's the second day done with and what an eyeful we got. Snowboard Big Air and Freeski Slopestyle was on the menu today and neither disappointed. Under difficult conditions, both skiers and snowboarders pulled it out of the bag and kicked the knuckles out of the park. Surprises in both and a serious sight for sore eyes, all we're terribly impressive and made me feel inadequate and inspired in equal amounts. Big Up!!!!
Better, in fact, far better was what happened in the Apres area tonight! The Cushe Huckfest went off in the most incredible fashion. It basically was 'Sick to power of Rad'. Nuff said. Skiers and snowboarders, literally threw themselves into the Cushe Landing making for one of the most exciting events at the BRITS. The crowd cheerd, jeered, screamed and hollered at the top of their lungs pushing the competitors that little bit further to compete for the Cushe cash prizes. We gave out prizes for best back flip, best front flip, best double and finally, best freestyle. In total we handed out 500CHF's and those guys get a few extra beers tonight, my goodness, they deserve it. Kudos to all! Our eyes are in debt to you.
One more week to go now until Cushe hits the slopes at the BRITS (British Freeski and Snowboard Championships) and to say we're excited is an understatement.
We've planned more that ever this year, what with the Cushe Airbag in situ again and new for 2010 we're hosting Cushe 'Huck Fest', which is Cushe's very own Airbag contest that promises to be a banger of an evening with very special prizes. We're also partnering up with 'Urban Knights' for an evening of dubstep and breaks just to keep all you snow folk entertained. We'll be doing daily blog updates too with video's coming direclty from the event, hosting on the spot competitions and if you'll be in Laax, look out for us on location where we'll be shooting for next years advertising campaigns.
We're itching to get over there now, so are constantly clock watching. Bet you are too.
See you there and if we don't keep and eye on

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, Jan 15th 2010 - Local surfer Chris Waring (Seal Beach, CA) 22, ousted fellow local Brad Ettinger (Huntington Beach, CA), 25, in an action packed final to win the Katin Pro/Am Team Challenge presented by Primo for himself and Team Reef. Ettinger's Team Hurley, last years reigning Team Challenge, claimed the runner up position.
The historic Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Speciality Event has a unique camaraderie-driven team-based format, with 20 four-man teams competing in an open-draw format. Team results were determind by the placement of individual surfers who received points in each heat (4 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th place). More than $28,500 in cash and prizes was awarded.
Waring battled back to claim his first Katin Pro/Am Team Challenge victory after Ettinger posted the event's only perfect 10-point ride with a lengthy barrel into the pier. Waring found a barrel of his own to earn a 9.53 out of 10 and quickly followed up with a 6.50 to overtake the goofy footer, holding on for the win despite a valiant effort by Ettinger to bounce back.

"I just can't believe it," Waring said. "i don't even know what to think right now. Brad (Ettinger) started off with that 10, so to come back and win is amazing. This is a special event for Huntington Beach, and it has such a great history. Now my name is going to be up there with all the great surfers who have won this event in the past."
In addition to taking out the personal victory, Waring's standout performance carried Team Reef to victory over last year's winner, Team Hurley, who finished 2nd this year.
"i'm stoked that my team was able to win," Waring said. "Getting the win on top of it for Reef, it just couldn't have gone any better."
