Surf Champion
Mitch Corbett

Mitch Corbett is a surfer's surfer. Coming from a family of watersmen (he has two brothers, one of whom shapes surfboards and one who produces/films surf movies), his path into the drink was inevitable. A proficient bodyboarder since the age of 6, after his family landed on sunny shores of Newquay (there wasn't much swell in Birmingham at the time), he got his first taste of stand up surfing at the age of 12.

Placed 4th in his very first competition, after only a few months surfing, Mitch's natural talent was obvious and it was clear that a career as a pro surfer was on the cards. Now at the age of 21, still a relative youngster, he has competed in every major British event and managed to place second in his first English national event at open level.

Growing up in Newquay, Mitch became witness to the freedom of travel and at the age of 17 with little money in his back pocket, boarded a plane alone for his first winter adventure. Living on omega diet and in low-level accommodation, six months of crisp Indonesian barrels and Aussie super banks has seen him return every year since for what he now considers mandatory training for the domestic season of competition.

Daily in his surfing Mitch is pushing harder to advance technically and progressively without losing the fundamentals of good quality surfing.
